Delegation from the Republic of Zambia visited the Rostov Region

As part of an official two-day visit to the Rostov Region, a delegation from the Republic of Zambia visited Kamenskvolokno JSC, KOMZ-Export Ltd., Rostselmash Combine Plant LLC and held a meeting with the management of the Don State Technical University (DSTU ).

Kamenskvolokno JSC is considering the possibility of localizing the processing of polypropylene in Zambia and the manufacture of body armor facilities.

DSTU, in turn, announced its intention to open a branch of the university on the basis of Copperbelt University in Kitwe. The main university of the Rostov region also wants to establish an Interregional Technology Transfer Center in the southern province of the Republic, which will become a platform for promoting innovative products and technologies and will ensure the presence of region's enterprises and companies in African countries.

In 2020 the Government of Zambia, universities and representatives of companies in the agro-industrial complex held a series of negotiations with DSTU on joint projects in the field of agriculture, education and research. In the near future, an agreement on cooperation between DSTU and Copperbelt University will be signed. The agreement will fix the intentions of the parties to start developing a roadmap for the creation of a branch of the Rostov university in Africa.

The DSTU management also plans to sign an agreement with the Zambian Ministry of Livestock and Fishery to train specialists in the following areas: agriculture, aquaculture, veterinary medicine, agricultural engineering for programs of all levels of higher education and additional  training.

The delegation of the African republic to the Russian region was headed by  Minister of Finance of Zambia Bwalya Ng'andu,  permanent secretary of the Ministry of Defense F. Piri, the commander-in-chief of the Zambian Air Force D. Muma, the Ambassador of Zambia to Russia Sh. Luwita also took part in the visit.
