Russia Day celebration
The Embassy of Russia and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Lusaka held festive events dedicated to Russia Day. As a part of the cultural programme, the RCSC hosted famous Russian artist V.M. Gerz, who sang several national hits through videoconference. Participants of the international competition of young readers «Living Classics» read to the audience the passages from classical works. The finalists of the competition were awarded with diplomas and gifts.
An art exhibition «Zambia through the eyes of Russian artists» and a photo exhibition «Cross-cultural beauty» were opened in the Centre for compatriots and employees of the Embassy.
On June 12, the ZNBC-1 TV channel broadcasted an interview with the Ambassador on the occasion of Russia Day. In his speech, H.E. A.V. Boldyrev, addressing the President, Government and people of the Republic, shared his view on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the special role of our country in the training of highly qualified personnel, the establishment of the nuclear industry and the improvement of the agricultural sector of Zambia. On the same day, the government newspapers «Zambia Daily Mail» and «Times of Zambia» published articles regarding Russia Day, that describe in detail the areas of interaction and potential fields for expanding cooperation.
