Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Zambia
Alexander Vilovich Boldyrev, born in 1955.
Education: Alexander V. Boldyrev graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR (MGIMO-University) in 1978. Speaks English and Bengali languages. Has a diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the first class, assigned in September, 2018.
On the diplomatic service since 1978. Held different positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions:
1996-1998 – Head of section of the Second European Department
1998-2001 – Counsellor at the Russian Embassy in Great Britain
2001-2004 – Head of section of the General Secretariat (Department)
2004-2010 – Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Vienna
2012-2016 – Deputy Permanent Delegate of the Russian Federation to UNESCO, Paris
2016-2019 – Deputy Director of the Department for Relations with Compatriots Abroad.
On the 31st of October, 2019, Alexander Boldyrev was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Zambia by presidential decree №535.
