On Celebration of the International Artist Day in the Embassy’s School
On December 8, 2023, on the International Artist Day, a meeting of students and teachers was held at the Secondary School at the Russian Embassy in Zambia with the artist and creator of his own gallery, Twice Art Gallery ZM in Lusaka, Mr. Twice.
The holiday, established in 2007 by the International Association «Art of the Peoples of the World», is celebrated annually not only by professional artists, but also by art lovers.
On this day, exhibitions, creative events, master classes, «open» lessons and flash mobs on drawing are held in many countries around the world, fans of fine art have the opportunity to visit art museums and art galleries for free.
In the conversation that took place, Mr. Twice spoke about the path that he had to go from a simple self-taught man to a master of his craft, about determining the artistic directions of his work, about choosing the necessary materials.
Mr. Twice presented an exhibition of paintings, including portraits of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the first President of the Republic of Zambia Kenneth Kaunda, famous musicians, artists and children, as well as images of animals of the African continent.
The most interesting and memorable thing for the students was the creation by Mr. Twice of a portrait of one of the participants of the meeting in front of their eyes.
During his performance, the artist spoke about the possibilities of modern information technologies used by him in creating a painting, about the basics of drawing the individual facial features of a person with a pencil, and also showed the working methods with acrylic paints on canvas.
